O Christmas Tree

This year we were stuck using our scrawny fake tree from last year due to the fact that, well, real trees cost money! LOL! Next year, I am putting my foot down and we are getting a real one. I had never ever had a fake tree until I got married. It was always real at both my parents houses and I miss the smell, and the mess, and the chore of watering the tree, and the mess...

Though it is scrawny I think this is the prettiest tree we have ever had. I finally put on some of my teal/blue/silver ornaments that I have been saving up for when we have a plain color themed tree. I didn't think they would look good mixed with all my snowmen and the handmade ones, but we like it. It is homey and I love love to sit in the living room at night with the tree lit whenever I get the chance.

Two of my favorite ornaments. One old and one new. I love Target Christmas clearance! That is where I got all of my glass ball ornaments, and my beads!
The only thing is I wish our topper lit up. It is so hard to find just the right one, this one will do for now, I love the squigly silvery wires, but I want one that glows!

The decorated balls are really pretty! I'll have to take a second look at Target's Christmas decorations.

Your tree looks so pretty! I put the lights up on ours and I couldn't get them even. Then I let the kids have at it with the ornaments...ehem...at least they are invested in it. I meant to go back and rearrange some of the ornaments so they weren't just on the second half of the tree, but before I had a chance, Emma had all the ornaments off the tree and has been playing Easter egg hunt with them. At this point I don't even care anymore.

doesn't it make everything nicer when the tree's up and decorated?

Looks so pretty! You're pictures show how pretty your tree is, I think my camera stinks. My trees look so much better in person than it shows. Argghh!

Remember our big 16-footer? That was our last real tree. Now we have an artificial tree, too. Much easier to put up and take down. I agree your tree looks nice. Ours will go up next weekend. Love. Dad

Yes, it did. A night to remember, eh? Lori certainly hasn't forgotten! Love.

We went artificial years ago. Nothing compares to the trees Grandpa used to bring us from Oregon.
I love your tree, even if it is scrawny, the lights are beautiful.

I just noticed the tiny little star on top of your tree. I think you need something bigger next year! We'll miss you guys this year, but I'll see you in February. Love. Dad
