And another one bites the dust

Yesterday was my birthday. Another uneventful day filled with finals, studying, sniffling, napping, lots of family phone calls, and, well...Shipley's. Keith had a morning final so he was off and out the door early, no time for my always hoped for breakfast in bed. So the kids and I slipped on some shoes, wrapped up in blankets and headed out for donuts in our PJ's. They loved that! Brady was so excited about not having shoes on! We came back for enough to feed and army and hopefully have leftovers to snack on during the day, which was actually only enough to feed me, 2 toddlers, and 3 bottomless pits for one meal! I forgot how much young men eat! A LOT!

The rest of the day was spent watching movies, playing (more on that later) and just hanging out. It is just a hard time of year for my birthday money is tight, testing is hard, and colds are rampant. But, I was able to milk the whole "it's my birthday" to get lots of favors! LOL! I don't think I got up for water once! Hehehe. And I was able to work on my calendar uninterrupted last night, and that was nice! Some quality crafting time is always a welcome surprise.

Oh, and Keith got me the Jason Mraz CD that I had been wanting, so yay for that!

Happy Birthday! Sorry that you didn't feel good on your birthday. Shipley's donuts sounds like a good runner up to breakfast in bed!

Happy Birthday, and I know it is hard to see right now--but someday you will be able to really splurge for your birthday, get breakfast in bed, and have your husband home more. The catch is it may take until kids are grown up, but it will come. (At least that is what I tell myself.)

Happy Birthday. And remember, it's not a day it's a week. Yes, you get to get spoiled for a whole week so keep asking for them favors :) (Heck I try to milk it for at least a couple of weeks!)
