Ok, I was challenged to figure out the eyes! And I found one tutorial for JUST the eyes here (thanks PW!), but it didn't work for this picture. So I found another tutorial here, and I LOVE it, I may just use it on everything...too bad I don't like to edit my photos before posting to my blog, but maybe this will help me! At least on my year of Sundays! What do you think?

Messing around *updated*
As I am wasting time trying to redo my blog, I wanted to play with my Photoshop Elements 6, and look what I did! I don't know if it is the right way or not, and the color on the shoes is a bit bright, but I kinda like it!

Totally cool. You gotta learn how to do the EYES! Then teach me ;).
I love it! It makes the picture so pretty! I have a birthday coming up and I think I know what to ask for now :-) Oh, Photoshop not the shoes, in case you're wondering :-)
Oh yes! You have to get it, I actually have PSE 6, and you know what? It was WAY cheaper, and since I am not (right now) in need of all the regular PS stuff, it works well for me! And I use it ALL the time for digiscrapping! A
You just have to be careful not to go too far. PS effects become VERY recognizable. Remember, the theorectical goal is to create an image that reflects what you saw or felt when you captured it. Good work. How do you find the time for all this? Love. Dad
Yeah, I like the PS stuff, but it IS obvious, but I think sometimes that is fun! I mostly love SOOC (straight out of camera) and I am reading up on how to get better at that too! And I sneak 5 mins here and there, and I work on it! Today we actually decided to stay HOME all day, and so I have had a lot more time this morning than other mornings, plus when Brady naps it is quiet time!
I’m gonna have to agree with your dad here. I think all of the “editing” is cool and all – but the “realistic look” will always be my favorite. (I know I’m a minority by far here by the way – and that’s okay). :-)
Ooo! Thanks for the tutorial. The eyes look great! PS enhancement just gives pictures that right amount of zing!
Gotta agree with your Dad, but don't tell him.
In the second photo of Brady, he is so lightened, he doesn't stand out from the background as much. Somewhere between maybe?
I completely agree about the background being too washed out, and that I will learn to by watching where I shoot, but the eyes look cool, I think, and that is the best new trick!
I think I need an in-person tutorial. :)
I think I just need to upgrade to PSE6 (I currently have PSE4). I rarely photoshop my photos though, just not enough time to deal with it.
