It's Christmas time again...

Well, now that Thanksgiving has passed it is now officially my favorite time of year! I love Christmas and the winter time. Everything about this time of year is fun (except the fact that when we really want the extra money, there doesn't seem to be any), the T.V. is always tuned to the Christmas music channel, the Christmas lights are always plugged in, the kids fall asleep to Christmas music, and as soon as we had cleaned up from our Thanksgiving dinner I asked Keith to get out the decorations. We don't have very many, but I love to have them out for as long as possible. My absolute favorite are snowmen, so I love getting to put up all my snowmen stuff. This year we had a lot of fun, because Natalie is old enough to actually help and get excited. She has been asking a lot of questions this time around. Her new phrase is "Can we talk more about (insert specific topic here)?", she will say this for anything. It is nice to see she wants to learn more and not just give us the old nod your head and smile. When we started explaining "more about" Santa, she started to get a little freaked out. I think that one is going to take a little more convincing to her that we don't need to be scared of a big man coming down the chimney! Anyway, here are some of our decorations, we don't have a tree yet, I think I may have to convince Keith still on that one! All he can think about is Mr. Brady getting into it all. the. time! Especially since his new thing is going from one "forbidden" object to the next!
My bookshelf snowmanned up.

My new advent calendar, we actually just got this in the mail today from my parents. Each drawer came already filled with a piece of candy, it is so cute! Also, notice that we took down most of our regular decorations, but the important ones had to stay out. Read-#1 fan.

The kids Nativity set. I saw this two years back at a church thing and I has to get it. So last year I got it and the kids love it. Last year Natalie was so sad when I put it away, and would randomly ask for it throughout the year. She was so excited to see it again!

My favorite set! I found it on the back page of the Seagull bookstore catalogue. It was love at first sight! (they are snowmen, if you can't tell)

So, two years ago I had no nativity sets and last year I got three! It was a good year for new decorations. I will post pictures of the third one later, I am saving it...

Your snowman are so cute!

A thought on the Brady/tree situation, when the boys were small we had a little tree, like 3 feet tall, and put it on a table. We didn't have very many ornaments to put on it anyway, and that way it stayed away from small hands.

Ewan never seemed to get into the tree too much. I guess we were lucky. Because just yesterday I was telling Bryce how we weren't going to be able to keep Fynn out of it. He's much more rambunctious than Ewan every was.
Everything looks really good, love the nativities.

Cute! I'll post mine soon. I love your nativities, I need one. But I can't ever find the perfect one. I do have a gorgeous snow globe with the nativity inside.

Yeah, for Christmas. My favorite part about Christmas is getting out all our Christmas books. (As buying books seems to be a costly habit for me.)

is that a little people nativity set? do you know where I could get one? i have been searching for a great set for the boys, and this would be perfect.

It is little people, and I bought mine directly from the little people website (fisher price?), it was way cheaper than buying on ebay! Weird, huh? it wasn't too horribly expensive, and it was so worth it!

Nice decorations! We put up our tree and Ben's done really well. I put mostly the unbreakable ornaments on the bottom and some jingle bells I don't really mind him pulling off. You should go for it! Better he learn now than later!

We also put our tree up right after Thanksgiving this year - it comes in a box and is much easier than the 16-footer we used to have delivered. It looks nice with just the lights (remember THAT Christmas?). I even hung our icicle lights already. I have what I hope will be fun surprise package that should go out Monday. It is for Natalie and she may open it early. What would you like for Brady? I saw a small toy shotgun that I like. It only fires caps. Might as well get him started early. Love. Dad
