I love you son

I was talking to my sister on my birthday and it was brought to my attention a fact that I had never though of, she has never met my son! This mad me so sad I wanted to cry (I am starting to now and I need to quit it because I am working), I love him so much, and I hate that there are members of my family that have never gotten to be a part of his precious world.

Dearest Brady,

Ever since you entered our family life has been different. From your first moments here on this Earth you tugged at my heart strings with your big baby self being the largest in the NICU. Oh how I wanted to hold you in my arms, but they made me wait! I had to wait a whole day before they let your Daddy wheel me downstairs to hold your little orange body in my arms. To quote one of my favorite Mama to baby songs, "I knew I loved you before I met you." Growing up in a house full of girls I never know what to expect with a little boy! Every day you surprise me with something new, and are constantly switching back and forth between being a serious pain in my butt to the most lovey, sweet, good natured kid I have ever seen! And oh my goodness your thighs! I can't get enough of your little body, so soft and with just the right amount of squish! You know just how to bring a smile to my face and a tear to my eye, with your sweet declarations of "Mama? I yuv you".You are almost 2 years old which astounds me! How has that much time passed? You are such a little man. You saunter around in your big boy jeans and your polo shirts, just about as cute as can be! You are learning new words every day, some of your favorites are "guck!"-truck, "nack!"-snack, "BOON!"-balloon (said in all caps), "poon"-spoon (your absolute favorite thing to carry around), "Mama", "Daddy", and "Shya"-yes. Most of your words come out as a sort of growl and with lots of feeling. In the car you love to whisper-yell "Mama! Mama!" Until I ask "What Brady?" and then you answer with one of your words, whichever you have just seen or want or just want to say out loud. And when you want a "nack" you don't stop asking for it until you get one, or until I can find something to take your mind off food! Some of your favorite things to play with/carry around include spoons, your little red screwdriver from your Go Car, buballs (footballs), buBAbababa (basketballs), blankie (mostly the blue one with squares, but you are not picky when given the choice of all three of your little Circo fleeces), your glow worm, and Elmo. You also love to watch Elmo, and when he comes on the TV you will repeat Elmo over and over again until you have exhausted yourself with talking, and you will then settle in to actually watch Elmo. You also love to sit in my rocking chair and rock yourself by banging your head against the back. The most annoying (I mean endearing, my sweet angle you) thing you do is walk around the house from one forbidden thing (sticking DVD's in the wii) to another (putting spoons in the AC grate) to another (digging around in the kitchen for more spoons) to another (getting Erin's toothbrush to brush your own teeth) to another (pulling out objects from the bowl with Daddy's wallet in it). This tires me out, but then you look at me with your mischievous grin and it melts away...almost!Brady, you are one of the happiest kids I have ever met. You love to laugh, and you find everything funny. You love to crawl all over the house and furniture. A favorite pastime of yours is climbing over the end of the couch, then standing on the couch and falling either face first or backwards onto the cushions (I don't know which is scarier to me!). Tonight you started to bear crawl across the living room for the first time. The other day you climbed/fell out off your crib, and I even remembered to put the side up! You will be my first kid to break something, I just know it! I guess I shouldn't be surprised, especially since I have already had to take you into the ER to get liquid stitches. I just know I will be worrying about you and your safety for the rest of my life! But I will love every minute of it. I just want you and everyone else to know how much I love you! We certainly have our days and moments, but I don't know what I would do without you! You are an absolute wonder to me, and I never am bored with you around! My funny little man, I love you!

Love,
Mama

What a sweet letter! Print it out and put it somewhere with Brady's baby book or papers you keep for his adulthood. Now I want you to write one to Natalie and do the same and print it out and put it away. They will treasure it when they get into adulthood.
