about being grateful
If there is one thing you read today, make it this. Ryan is a Pastor that traveled with a group of people to Kenya, he is documenting his travels as they are connecting with some of the children that are sponsored through the Compassion program. It's heart wrenching. We are so so so SO blessed to live in America.

Yes, we are. And, sadly, if are to continue to be blessed, many of those children in Kenya have to die. At least until they get their birth rate under control.
Wow. I really needed that perspective today. My trials pale in comparison.
Sorry. I read the whole thing this time and the fact is that living conditions are like that because the people there are just too lazy to do anything about it. Yes, they are poor. But, they have shovels or they could make them. Ditches could be dug, waste areas established, etc. This is how most of black Africa lives, more or less. Go to a remote village and the garbage and sanitation is about the same, just on a lesser scale. Why? Because they won't do anything about it for themselves. Standards are different. Tomorrow is non-existent so long as they are out of the weather, have some food and/or alcohol and can get sex. Racist? No. Realist. Been there and seen it for myself. Is it sad? By our standards, yes. Can it be fixed. Not in my lifetime. On the other hand, when America is gone and long forgotten, black Africa (at least in rural areas) will be pretty much the same as it is now. Dad
