My quilt!

I did it! I finally made a quilt, all by myself, from start to finish, with a hand sewn binding to boot! And I absolutely LOVE it! I got the "pattern" from Crazy Mom Quilts, she is amazing and one of the first blogs I ever started reading, and when she posted this tutorial I knew that would be my first attempt and completion of a real design style quilt.
I also used her tutorial for how to make your own binding, and attach it. So basically she taught me how to make this one from start to finish.
These different polka dot fabrics jumped out at me at the store one day and I knew they were perfect for this quilt. They are my favorite colors! I love the green I used for the binding, and I also used it for one long green stripe on the back. I already had a whole bolt of the cream to use on my sad attempt at the star quilt.
The quilt is a crib size, and it took me one weekend to sew the top, and then another weekend (plus a few stolen moments here and there) to baste, tie and then bind it. It was a labor of love and I absolutely do LOVE it! Now I am going to start another one!

Very nice, dear. Looks like lots of work. Crib size? Dad

Ha! The pattern just made that size, it's also perfect for curling up on the couch. No need for crib size anything yet :D

I love this! Where did you get the fabric? I'm thinking of similar colors for my new little guy.

Julie, don't you know that when you are pregnant, you don't make anything for your baby? You let others do it for you ;) and I am one step ahead of you...

It looks great, Shannon! I love the colors.
Hmmm, would love one for the couch in my conference room for naps, in case you are looking for ideas. . . .
By the way, I just LOVE my java jackets you made! I can choose the one that best matches my outfit that day. THANK YOU!

It is beautiful! Someday I'd like to do a quilt. Someday I have a long list of things I'd like to do/try/learn someday....

Um, you are my crafting hero. I kid you not. Quilting is definitely on my list of things to accomplish - but I know I'll have to wait until Jay and I have a house and some space to keep all the stuff!

The color scheme you chose is GORGEOUS. I love how quilting has become much more modern - it's not all about old-lady fabrics and colors. The quilt you made is something I'd want! Just gorgeous!

Well done. :)
