On the 12th day of Christmas...

...the Bowers gave to me:

"O little town of Bethlehem,
how still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
the silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
the everlasting light;
The hope and fears of all the years
are met in the tonight.

For Christ is born of Mary,
and gathered all above,
While mortals sleep, the angels keep
their watch of wondering love.
O morning stars together,
proclaim the holy birth,
And praises sing to God the King,
and peace to men on Earth!

How silently , how silently,
the wondrous gift is giv'n;
So God imparts to human hearts
the blessings of His Heav'n.
No ear may hear His coming, but in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive Him still,
the dear Christ enters in."

Merry Christmas Eve to Everyone!

On the 11th day of Christmas...

... the Bowers gave to me:

"To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was
Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's
name was Mary.

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail,
thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with
thee: blessed art thou among women.

And when she saw him, she was troubled at his
saying, and cast in her mind what manner of
salutation this should be.

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary:
for thou hast found favor with God.

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb,
and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name
JESUS.

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son
of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give
unto him the throne of his father David:

And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever;
and of his Kingdom there shall be no end."
Luke 1:27-33

On the 10th day of Christmas...

...the Bowers gave to me:

"Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:
When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph,
before they came together, she was found
with child of the Holy Ghost.

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not
willing to make her a public example, was minded
to put her away privily.

But while he thought on these things, behold, the
angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream,
saying, Joseph thou son of David, fear not to take
unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is
conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt
call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people
from their sins.
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled
which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet,
saying,

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring
forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel,
which being interpreted is, God with us.

Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the
angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto
him his wife:

And knew her not till she had brought forth her
firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS."
Matthew 1:18-25

On the 9th day of Christmas...

...the Bowers gave to me:

"And Jesus, when he had found a young
ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King
cometh, sitting on and ass's colt." St John 12: 14-15

On the 8th day of Christmas...

...the Bowers gave to me:

"And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude
of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on
earth peace, good will toward men.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away
from them into heaven, the shepherds said one
to another, let us go now even unto Bethlehem,
and see this thing which is come to pass,
which the Lord hath made known unto us.

And they came with haste, and found Mary,
and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

And when they had seen it, they made known
abroad the saying which was told them
concerning this child.

And all the that heard it wondered at those
things which were told them by the shepherds.

But Mary kept all these things and
pondered them in her heart.

And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising
God for all the things that they had heard
and seen, as it was told unto them." Luke 2: 13-20

On the 7th day of Christmas...

...the Bowers gave to me:

"Nevertheless, wheat for man, and corn for the ox,
and oats for the horse, and rye for all the fowls and
for swine, and for all beasts of the field, and barley
for all useful animals , and for mild drinks, and also
other grain." Doctrine and Covenants 89:17

On the 6th day of Christmas...

...the Bowers gave to me:

"And there were in the same county shepherds
abiding in the field, keeping watch
over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon
them, and the glory of the Lord shone
round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them,
fear not: for behold, I bring
you good tidings of great joy, which
shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city
of David a Saviour, which is
Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye
shall find the babe wrapped in
swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." Luke 2:8-12

On the 5th day of Christmas...

...the Bowers gave to me:

"...and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east,
went before them, till it came and stood
over where the young child was.
When they saw the star, they rejoiced
with exceeding great joy.
And when they were come into the house, they
saw the young child with Mary his mother,
and fell down, and worshipped him: and
when they had opened their treasures, they
presented unto him gifts; gold, frankincense,
and myrrh." Matthew 2:9-11

On the 4th day of Christmas...

...the Bowers gave to me:

"And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Matthew 19:24

On the 3rd day of Christmas...

...the Bowers gave to me: (don't forget to sing aloud!)

"We three kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar
Field and fountain, moor and mountain
Following yonder star.

Born a King on Bethlehem's plain
Gold I bring to crown Him again
King forever, ceasing never
Over us all to rein.

Glorious now behold Him arise
King and God and Sacrifice
Alleluia, Alleluia
Earth to heav'n replies.

O star of wonder, star of night
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to thy Perfect Light."

On the 2nd day of Chirstmas...

...the Bowers gave to me.

"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem.

Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him." Matthew 2:1-2

On the first day of Christmas...

Last year someone did the 12 days of Christmas to us with a Nativity set, and it was one of the most special things we have ever had done to us around the holidays. For some reason last year, we just really needed it! Anywho, each piece came with a little scripture or message and I thought this year I would share it with you! So here we go, day one:

...The Bowers gave to me...
"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because if the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall." Helaman 5:12

P.S. We still don't know who even gave us this, so if it was you, then THANK YOU!
